Going back into equities – an update.

My first article under this heading was dated 8th Dec 08. It concerned picking four “safe” shares with a combined yield of 6%. The capital gain % in the 16 months since is as follows:-

National Grid 6.1

Scottish & Southern 5.5

Centrica 40.4

Severn Trent 15.8

                                    Average 11.8%

Added to the dividend, not a bad return.
